About the event
The end of the year is near, which means the Lantern Festival is just around the corner! Join us for a relaxing and creative lantern building and painting session where you can design your own beautiful paper lantern to light up the season.
This is a paid event to help cover the cost of craft materials and food — $20 per participant.
We’ll provide paints, a variety of stencils, washi tape, traditional Japanese paintbrushes (as well as standard brushes), glue guns/sticks for assembly. And exacto knives for precision cutting. You’ll also learn a few traditional brush painting techniques to give your lantern an authentic touch.
To make the afternoon even more enjoyable, we’ll be serving small Japanese-style finger sandwiches, including pork tonkatsu and tamago sando, paired with warm boricha (roasted barley tea) — the perfect snack to enjoy while you paint and relax.
Whether you’re looking to unwind, get creative, or celebrate the coming festival…
