New Year’s Kimono Gathering – Shin'nenkai in Kimono
Step into the new year with elegance and tradition! Join us for a joyful Shin'nenkai (New Year’s Gathering) where we celebrate fresh beginnings in the beauty of kimono.
Dress in your most festive attire – whether it’s a vibrant furisode, a kimono with auspicious motifs like cranes, pine, bamboo, or plum, or simply a favorite piece that makes you feel radiant.
What’s Happening:
Kakizome -First Writing of the Year (1:30pm-2pm) – Try your hand at writing an inspiring word or phrase in calligraphy to set your intentions for 2025. (we will have paper, markers or brushes, and ink provided)
Seasonal Meal Sharing (2pm-3pm)– Bring along New Year’s inspired dishes or picnic foods (osechi ryori favorites like sweet black beans, rolled omelet, or mochi are encouraged!).
